There have been Christians living and working in East Ham ever since the borough was formed in the late nineteenth century.
A small group of them came together in 1889 to take the most serious and wonderful step of forming a local church. Ever since then, believers in Jesus Christ have joined and met at our church building in Stafford Road E7.
We meet each Sunday and Wednesday to express:
• our worship of God for who he is
• our thankfulness to him for what he’s done
• our love for Jesus Christ and his gospel
• our unity and love for each other
This is done as we pray, sing and listen to men declare and teach God’s truth to us from the Bible. We make it our aim to be pleasing to God when we come together. We hope that our meetings are marked by reverence, love, and joy.
You will find a warm welcome in our church whether you are a Christian or just interested in knowing more about the Christian faith. Our sermons and literature can be translated using ‘google translate’ we have done this for Romanian friends and for those speaking other languages.
Our worship of God recognises that we are totally dependent on God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, to express our thankfulness for the debt he has paid on the cross of Calvary for sinners.
Our love for Jesus Christ and the gospel is shown through our worship, as we pray, sing and listen to men declare and teach God’s truth to us from the Bible, the only infallible truth and authority which enables us to live for God and please him in all that we do. Our meetings are marked by reverence, love, and joy to God and one another.
